The “I’ve Got Character” Interactive Workshops for Children

“I’ve Got Character” Interactive Workshops help children develop strong communication and decision-making skills, embrace compassion and empathy, eliminate bullying behavior, avoid revenge mentality, and learn to flourish in any social situation.

Each workshop will initiate a personal conversation with students, encourage them to take responsibility for their actions, and empower them to carve out their own path to create their most incredible dream life.

We do not tell children what to think. We motivate them to think before they choose their behavior, through creative dramatics and inspiring dialogue.

Our workshop leader is Creative Dramatics Specialist and author of the “I’ve Got” interactive book series for children, Taryn Grimes-Herbert. Taryn is a parenting columnist, Broadway, film, and television actress, mother of two, and the 2010 Women of Achievement in the Arts honoree for Orange County, New York.

Most importantly, she’s parented a bullied child. Through her experience, she learned what children need, if they are to survive those challenges and thrive.

Ms. Grimes-Herbert has served on numerous Anti-Bullying Committees and has been called upon by the CNN/TruTV’s “In Session” to comment on court cases focused around bullying. Through radio interviews and personal appearances, she continues to speak out about the importance of building a bridge between parents and educators to reach a common goal — developing character, respect, and a sense of hope in the next generation.

Ms. Grimes-Herbert’s clinical consultant is David E. Jacobsen, Doctor of Clinical Psychology. Dr. Jacobsen is an experienced clinician and administrator working with families during times of crisis.  He has served as an Adjunct Instructor at graduate and undergraduate levels teaching courses in Crisis Intervention, Child & Adolescent Behavior, Professional Ethics, and History & Systems of Psychology. He is also a frequent contributor to the “I’ve Got” on-line discussion forum, adding a professional perspective on the common sense approach of helping parents build strong connections with their children as a means of helping kids become people of integrity.
